South Arts' President & CEO hosted Susie Surkamer hosted a fireside chat on December 15, 2022, to celebrate the accomplishments of this past year, share a sneak peek into South Arts’ into our upcoming work, explore our vision for advancing Southern vitality through the arts, and hear about opportunities to support arts communities across the region. Susie was joined by our board member and Georgia State Senator Sonya Halpern, Jazz Road Tours grant recipient Brenda Nicole Moorer, and South Art's Development Officer Dalyla McGee.
South Arts Spiced Hot Chocolate (Spike optional)
- 1 cup milk of choice
- 2 oz milk chocolate
- 1 oz semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 tbsp light brown sugar
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- Pinch of salt
- 1.5 oz spiced rum (optional)
- Marshmallows for garnish
- .75 tsp cinnamon
- .25 tsp ground ginger
- .25 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
Add the milk, sugar and chocolate to a small pot and cook on a low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate and sugar have dissolved. Whisk in the spices. Remove from the heat, stir in the rum (optional) and pour into a mug or glass. Stir in the marshmallows and they will begin to melt and enrich the cocoa. Serve hot and repeat!
