Nico Piedrahita

Nico Piedrahita is a bowl and spoon carver from Weaverville, North Carolina. Nico specializes in traditional designs which he learned locally in Asheville and salvages green wood locally from fallen or cut trees that he cuts and splits himself. He uses hatchets, adzes, and other hand tools to shape it into blanks that are ready for the finished carving. Nico is dedicated to sharing these traditional woodworking skills with his community by teaching them to students in the area.
