Appalachian traditional weaver Susan Morgan Leveille conducted a four-day residency consisting of 12 children's summer camp workshops and 4 public weaving workshops for children and their families. She shared not only her technical expertise, but also the myriad stories woven into traditional Appalachian weaving.
During a public presentation, SC Arts Commission Folklorist and Traditional Arts Program Director Dr. Laura Marcus Green shared related folktales and stories that interwove vibrant Native American culture and traditional arts, the Upstate's textile heritage, and refugee stories from sanctuary cities around the country.
