Breakthrough Collaborative

Using Theatre of the Oppressed methodology, Scholars for Justice (SFJ) is a legislative theatre project where student-created plays are the vehicle for interacting with the broader Birmingham community with the ultimate goal of influencing policy change. Legislative theatre uses a power sharing model that levels the playing field, all stakeholders (community members, students, and policy makers) have a place at the legislative table to enact change in the community.
