About the Artist

The Smoogies is a South Florida-based band of musicians who have been performing their progressive, often melodic, rhythmic and electronically bent style of jazz for a few years. This will be the band’s first official tour. The band consists of: Vaughn "V. Keys" Henry - Keys/Vocoder; Dion Kerr - Bass/Effects; Harvel Nakundi - Drums/Percussion; David Chiverton - Drums

Vaughn Henry has toured and performed with Snarky Puppy and Ghost Note. He was also the finalist for a live contest to perform on the Harry Connick Jr. show. David Chiverton is a world class drummer and has been on the drum chair for Lauryn Hill and Cris Cab. He runs a YouTube music series called The Chivertone Sessions that has received an outstanding reception. Harvel Nakundi has recently been the drum chair for Etienne Charles. Dion Kerr is a member of the legendary Ignacio Berroa Trio and has been a sideman to Nicole Henry, Godwin Louis Global and the Emmet Cohen Trio. All four members are born and raised in South Florida.
